the movie is done, richer than ever with an incredible result.
The incredible part is mainly the amazing support we had from you.
We received donations from the entirety of Italy, Massachusetts (Usa), Belgium, Czech
Republic, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Malta, New York, the Netherlands, Estonia,
Illinois, New Zealand, California, Austria, and Denmark. In addition to financial support, all
these countries wanted to convey the worldwide appreciation of the project.
Thanks to you all it was possible to go over the most important steps of St. Nicholas’ huge
cultural journey, shooting the movie in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Russia, Turkey,
and the United States; as well as Bari and various Italian regions.
It was a “work in progress” we thought we’d never finish: every time we approached
completion, we figured we needed to gather more material and shoot in other countries,
and thus our needed budget levitated. But we never gave up, regardless of the time spent,
and in June 2019 we had managed to obtain all the footage needed.
On our way we were kindly welcomed and hosted by entire communities, such as (special
thanks to the people in the brackets) Politics and Press Officer Embassy of the Kingdom of
the Netherlands, Sint Niklaas’ Italian school (Miepol and Dirk), the Communication Ville de
Nancy (Fabio Purino and Emilie Froncoise), Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism
(Murat Sarac), Bari’s Associazione Myrabilia, Saint Nicholas Society (father James
Rosenthal), Nicholas study center (Gerardo Cioffari).
Many professionals on international scale joined the project, like the musician Ivan Iusco,
that is finalising the soundtracks directly from Los Angeles with his MinusHabenRecords.
The preview that we had scheduled for May 2020 – during St. Nicholas’ fair in Bari – got
postponed because of the lockdown that happened worldwide, but this gave us the chance
to partecipate in the Venice Festival contest that will take place in September 2020.
Regardless, the movie will come out the 6th of December 2020 (Provided that further
Covid-19 restrictions aren’t applied).

Cari sostenitori,
il film è finito ed è più ricco di prima e con un risultato incredibile.
E’ incredibile soprattutto il sostegno che abbiamo avuto da parte vostra.
Abbiamo ricevuto sostegno da tutta l’Italia, Massachusetts, Belgio, Repubblica Ceca,Francia,
Regno Unito, Germania, Malta, NY, Olanda, Estonia, Illinois, New Zelanda, California, Austria,
Danimarca. Che oltre all’apporto economico ci ha confermato quanto il progetto fosse importante.
Grazie a tutti voi è stato possibile ripercorrere le tappe fondamentali del lunghissimo viaggio
culturale di San Nicola e così siamo stati in Francia, Belgio, Olanda, Russia, Turchia, Usa, oltre
che a Bari e nelle varie regioni d’Italia.
E’ stato un working in progress che sembrava interminabile: ci siamo resi conto che serviva
ampliare i materiali e le riprese anche all'estero e che quindi il budget sarebbe lievitato. Ma non ci
siamo mai tirati indietro sebbene i tempi si allungavano e abbiamo fatto riprese fino a giugno del
2019.
Ma sul nostro percorso abbiamo trovato intere comunità che ci hanno ospitato e accolto come
Politics and Press Officer Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, la scuola d’italiano di Sint
Niklaas e in particolare modo nella figura di Miepol e Dirk, la Communication Ville de Nancy in
particolare nella persona di Fabio Purino e Emilie Froncoise, il Ministero Della Cultura e del
Turismo di Turchia in particolare nella figura di Murat Sarac, l’Associazione Myrabilia di Bari, la
Saint Nicholas Society in particolare nella persona di Padre James Rosenthal, il Centro Studi
Nicolaiano nella persona di Padre Gerardo Cioffari.
Nel progetto si sono aggiunti grandissimi professionisti internazionali tra cui il musicista Ivan Iusco
che sta finalizzando le musiche da Los Angeles con la sua MinusHabenRecords.
L’anteprima che avevamo programmato a maggio 2020 – durante la festa di San Nicola a Bari è
saltata per il lockdown mondiale ma questo ci ha permesso di provare a partecipare alla Mostra di
Venezia di settembre 2020. In ogni caso l’uscita del film è prevista per il 6 dicembre 2020 (se non
ci saranno restrizioni Covid).
Il documentario è prodotto da OZ Film – società di produzione cinematografica internazionale
fondata nel 2002 (www.ozfilm.it) con il sostegno di Apulia Film Commission, patrocinio della
regione Puglia e dal Comune di Bari.
